And I could have kept going...
I’m deeply saddened.

He brought me more than I could thank him for without taking hours.

So I’ll try to keep this brief.

He gave me, a misfit kid full of self-loathing:

The ability to relate to others.

My powerful vocabulary.

The capacity to bond in positive ways with other men.

The talent to speak in public (I never received less than an A on any project where I had to stand before the class).

The wit to do stand-up comedy (I finished top of both classes I took).

The ability to cooperate with others.

The capacity to compromise (though, admittedly I rarely do).

The means to both exercise and appreciate my imagination.

The means to engage an audience.

And keep them entertained.

Ok.

I may have spent more time on the hobby than I should have.

But that was my fault.

Not his.

So, God bless you Gary Gygax.

You were by no means a saint.

But you did some good in this world.

May we all do the same.

As soon as I heard I ran to LJ to see what everyone said... I think you summed it up very nicely.

Thank you.

I tried to be as honest as possible without gushing.
